Privacy & Cookie Policy

This policy explains what information Island Leisure Lanka collects through islandleisure.lk, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can, and only to answer your travel enquiries and to understand how our website is used.

Who we are

Island Leisure Lanka is an inbound tour operator based at 2, Ebert Place, Off Dickmans Rd, Colombo 00500, Sri Lanka. For any question about this policy or your information, email us at travels@islandleisure.lk.

Information you give us

Our contact form and the enquiry form on each tour package ask for your name, email address and, optionally, a phone number, together with your message and — for package enquiries — the package, your travel dates and the number of travellers.

When you submit a form, these details are emailed to our travel team and you receive an acknowledgement email. We do not store submissions in a database; they are kept in our team's mailbox for as long as we need them to plan and follow up on your trip, and you can ask us to delete them at any time. We use this information only to respond to your enquiry — never for unrelated marketing, and we never sell it.

For security and troubleshooting, our enquiry service keeps technical logs of requests (which can include your IP address and, for submissions flagged as spam, the name and email entered) for up to 30 days.

WhatsApp

Our WhatsApp buttons open a chat with our team in WhatsApp, with a suggested first message that you can edit before sending. Conversations there are handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under their own privacy policy; we use what you send us only to help plan your trip.

Cookies and analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use our website — for example which pages and tour packages are viewed, and whether enquiry forms and WhatsApp buttons are used. This helps us improve the site. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) that last up to two years. We do not send your name, email, phone number or messages to Google Analytics.

Marketing cookies, used to measure and personalise our Google ads, are likewise set only if you allow them.

Until you choose, all analytics and marketing storage stays switched off. We use Google's Consent Mode, which means that without your consent Google may still receive basic, cookieless signals (such as that a page was viewed) but no analytics or advertising cookies are set on your device.

Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage for 12 months, after which we ask again. You can change it at any time using Cookie settings in the footer of every page.

Other services we use

• Google Fonts — our typefaces are loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address in the process.
• Google Maps — the map on our contact page is embedded from Google Maps and only loads when you scroll it into view.
• Hosting and email — the website runs on Amazon Web Services, and enquiry emails are sent through our email provider.

Some of these providers process data outside Sri Lanka and outside your own country. They do so under their own privacy commitments and the safeguards required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act and, for visitors from the UK and EU, the GDPR — you may have the right to access the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, email travels@islandleisure.lk. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
