Cultural & Scenic Highlights

Kandy

Begin your journey in the picturesque hill capital of Kandy, the last royal capital of the Sinhala kings and one of Sri Lanka’s most important cultural destinations. Surrounded by misty mountains and the tranquil Kandy Lake, the city offers a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty.

Explore the city’s lively shopping streets while visiting the renowned Gem Museum, traditional Wood Carving Factory, and Batik Factory, where you can discover Sri Lanka’s famous craftsmanship and artistic heritage.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic

An optional visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers the opportunity to experience one of Buddhism’s most sacred pilgrimage sites. Located within the former royal palace complex, the temple houses the revered relic of the Buddha’s tooth and remains one of the island’s most important religious landmarks.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

En route to Kandy, travellers may choose to visit the famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Established to care for orphaned and injured elephants, the sanctuary is home to one of the world’s largest captive elephant herds and offers visitors the opportunity to observe these gentle giants up close.

Tea Country & Ramayana Trail

Travel through Sri Lanka’s spectacular central highlands towards the charming town of Nuwara Eliya, affectionately known as “Little England”. Surrounded by rolling tea plantations, cool mountain air, waterfalls, and colonial architecture, the region is famous for producing world-renowned Ceylon Tea.

Visit a working tea plantation to discover how Sri Lanka’s finest tea is cultivated and processed before stopping at two important sites along the legendary Ramayana Trail.

Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple

Located in the scenic hills of Ramboda, the Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is one of Sri Lanka’s most significant Ramayana sites. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery, the temple attracts both pilgrims and visitors interested in Hindu mythology.

Seetha Amman Temple

Continue to the colourful Seetha Amman Temple, the only Hindu temple in Sri Lanka dedicated to Princess Sita. According to the Ramayana epic, this sacred site is closely associated with the story of Sita’s captivity and remains an important pilgrimage destination for Hindu devotees.

Complete your visit with a relaxing evening at the beautiful Gregory Lake before enjoying a city tour of Nuwara Eliya.

Colombo

Conclude your journey in Colombo, Sri Lanka’s vibrant commercial capital. Discover a fascinating blend of colonial architecture, modern skyscrapers, bustling markets, luxury shopping malls, stylish cafés, and scenic waterfront promenades during a guided city and shopping tour before preparing for your onward journey.
